Welcome to Track My Pace
Whether training for a race, walking to get in shape or just analyzing your pace, Track My Pace is for you.
This is a real-time stopwatch with a built in pace calculator to be used while running or walking. It tracks your pace and total time, calculates and modifies your distance and speed for training purposes as you go. It journals your progress, calculates your split times and will tell you how many calories you burn per mile.
An application developed by your average athlete and her computer software engineer boyfriend.
On a bluebird Saturday morning in Portland, Oregon, I decided to complete my 20 mile training run in beautiful Forest Park. Miles of linked forested trail runs traversing hills and streams that boast bright blue mile markers. Finishing my coffee, I stumbled out of the car and realize I forgot my stopwatch. How was I going to calculate my time over 20 miles?
Luckily, I had my iphone with me. I turned up my ipod and hit the stopwatch. Mile 1, 2, 3, 4 and then it hit me. What if, what if….
What if I could see the last few miles and could at the same time calculate average pace, how could i know if I was off pace, going too slow, too fast? Could i use colors for instant feed back? Could I keep a journal on my phone instead of writing it down every time I got home? 20 miles later, I had what I thought was the perfect application.
Rushing home to Jay, gasping for breath and dripping sweat everywhere, I relayed my crazy idea.
2 months later we are please to present Track My Pace.
